The Fish
Arctic Grayling are feisty little fish who thrive in the
currents
of the Cree Lake tributaries. Their pronounced
dorsal fin
gives Graying the ability to easily navigate fast,
running
waters, making them an extremely exciting
adversary
on light tackle. Our Arctic Grayling locations
produce
fish in the 1 to 3 pound range.
Tackle & Techniques
Ideal rods are 5' to 6' ultralight/light
action
spinning,
rated
for 4 to 6 pound test lines
and light lure
weights.
Small
spinning reels are perfect.
Graying will
take very small
spoons, spinners, and jigs.
For flyfisherman, 6' to 7' four to six weight rods,
coupled
with
floating or light sinking tip lines are sufficient.
Attractor patterns, such as small Muddler Minnows and
streamers are very productive.
