The Fish
Most lakes in Northern Saskatchewan hold
bountiful
populations of walleye, and MacIntyre
Lake is no exception.
Walleye up here average one to four pounds, a
five pounder being huge. Our clients are after
trophy Northern Pike and Lake Trout, but an
hour or two of reeling in walleye after walleye
can be a nice diversion. After all, this specie
is excellent fare for the traditional shore lunch.
Tackle & Techniques
Spinning tackle works well for walleye. Light to
medium action rods rated for 6 to 8 pound test
small spinning reels, and an assortment of
1/8 to 1/4 ounce jigs and twister tails are
all that is needed. |
